[...] Find out from your current lender what your penalty actually is. This may sound pretty basic but it’s easy to get bad information from a customer service rep at your bank. Make sure you speak to someone who doesn’t just tell you a number, but also tells you how they arrived at that number. Not all banks calculate the penalty the same way so be careful! if you need help here, let us know. [...]

Hello

Just a comment. Keep up the good work, I saw you guys speak at Ari Zider's first event and am excited about the message you are trying to get out. As a bank employee, I am not out to trick people, and I admit that I know how the banks bank, and most of my colleagues likely could not explain it, which is to the detriment of everyone. I have been referring people to your site as it does a good job of explaining interest to people. the bank is a business, and will only exist if they can make money- there are many ways a bank can make money, and can earn as much profit off you over a lifetime if you pay off all your debt and then save as they do if you are always in debt.
Your goal helps people, and it helps them more than if I give them the same information. I also like that you stress taking personal responsibility, the tools are there, and as a Banker I would gladly work with people to create strategies to reduce their debt and interest, but I can't do it for them-or if they spend more than they make. keep up the good work, I will keep sending people to your website. If you ever create some cards, or perhaps small stickers that I could attach to a business card that promotes your site, send some to me and I will help promote your site.
Thank you
